The Project:

In the fall of 2013, DC Health Link, the largest SHOP exchange in the country, engaged NFP Health because the original premium billing vendor for the District failed to deliver a reliable. The incumbent vendor struggled to tie bills to enrollments, policy coverage months were missing on bills, and canceled coverage appeared on others.

NFP Health was tasked with delivering a replacement solution in less than six weeks to meet a critical date for the Exchange. NFP Health delivered. The solution went live before DC Health Links’ deadline and resolved all issues encountered with the original vendor.

The Results:

  • The solution was deployed and operational in time to make an aggressive, unmissable deadline – six weeks from signing a contract
  • As part of the implementation, we onboarded large groups ranging in size from 1,000 to 9,300 members
  • 100% accuracy on the first bill run and all subsequent billing runs
